Naira appreciates at the parallel market, now N485/$1, N580/£1

The naira has recorded a big gain against the American dollar, Pound sterling and Euro at the parallel market.

This comes even as the Christmas celebration weighs on the demand for the foreign currencies across the foreign exchange markets.

According to a Lagos based Bureau De Change operator, the Naira now trades at N485 per dollar as against the N495/$1 rate of last week.

It was also gathered that the naira now trades at N580 per pound as against the N605/£1 it was last week, while it trades at N490 per Euro as against the N507 rate it was last week.
